Frequently asked questions
What Olano builds, how engagements are scoped and priced, and how systems are governed in production. If your question isn't covered, start a conversation - we reply within one business day.
What is Olano?
Olano is a specialist AI systems studio based in Singapore. We design, deploy, and manage private AI systems around the way each client's business actually operates - across customer service (Olano Front Desk), business operations (Olano Operations), and market intelligence (Olano Intelligence), with bespoke systems for more complex organisations. Every system is connected to your tools, governed by your team with human approvals, and operated with a full audit history and spending controls.
How is an Olano engagement priced?
Every system is scoped individually. Pricing reflects the workflows involved, required integrations, operating volume, deployment architecture, and ongoing management requirements. Following an initial consultation, we provide a fixed proposal before any work begins.
What does the private consultation include?
A 30-minute conversation about how the work runs through your business today - which workflows, channels, and tools are involved - followed by a written recommendation: the system we would deploy first, the integrations it needs, and what the engagement would look like. There is no obligation either way.
Do you only work with businesses in Singapore?
Olano is based in Singapore and works in Singapore hours, but every system is deployed and managed remotely, so we work with teams in other regions too. Book a consultation and we'll confirm the fit for your region, channels, and languages.
Can more than one person use a system?
Yes. Your whole team can work with the system, with control over who can access what - and customer-facing systems serve unlimited customers on your channels. Access is never priced per seat.
Is my data private?
Yes - everything runs in its own private, isolated environment. Your agents, memory, connected apps, and history are never mixed with anyone else's data, and everything is encrypted at rest and in transit. A 5-layer safety architecture protects everything from your connected apps to every action an agent takes.
Can the system run my marketing and social media?
It does the heavy lifting; you keep control. Agents draft newsletters and social posts for X, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn in your voice, grounded in your own documents, and prepare the publishing schedule. Sending happens through tools you connect - like Buffer for social or Mailchimp and Resend for email - and everything waits for your approval by default.
Why use Olano instead of Claude directly?
Claude is a strong general-purpose AI workspace with connectors and scheduled tasks. Olano is designed for businesses that need persistent AI systems deployed across customer channels and operational systems. Olano agents can operate through WhatsApp, email, Telegram, Slack, webhooks, and other channels; respond to incoming business events; coordinate across specialist agents; and route work across different AI model providers. Each system is hosted and managed in an isolated cloud environment with approvals, audit history, and spending controls. Read the full comparison.
Which AI models does Olano use?
Olano systems are multi-model. Agents can run on Claude, OpenAI, DeepSeek, Gemini, or private models. Olano hosts the system, connects your tools and communication channels, and routes each task to the model best suited to it - with control over how much it may spend and where your data is processed.
What is the Cortex engine?
Cortex is Olano's autonomous cognition engine - the layer that makes your system better over time. On a schedule you control, it runs cycles of reflection (distilling conversations into long-term memory), learning (drafting reusable skills from repeated work), creation (brainstorming and prototyping ideas), improvement (proposing sharper instructions for itself), and tidying (gardening memory so knowledge stays fresh). Self-edits wait for your approval, every change is snapshotted with one-click undo, and deep-reasoning runs have daily budget caps.
Does Olano support MCP, skills, webhooks, scheduled tasks, and a knowledge base?
Yes - all of them are built into every deployment. Agents can use any MCP (Model Context Protocol) server alongside the built-in tools, learn reusable skills (teach a procedure once and it's repeated the same way every time), react to inbound webhooks and call out to any system, run scheduled tasks for recurring jobs and reports, and answer from a knowledge base built on your own documents.
Which messaging channels can a system use?
Telegram, WhatsApp, Slack, Discord, Email, SMS, Feishu/Lark, WeCom, WeChat, DingTalk, Signal, Matrix, Mattermost, iMessage, QQ, and any custom webhook - 15+ channels out of the box. The same system can be reached from any of them at once.
How long does deployment take?
Most single-workflow systems are deployed within days of onboarding. Larger engagements with custom integrations typically take one to three weeks depending on scope - and every build is scoped and agreed in a fixed proposal before work begins.
Can the agents act without human approval?
You control this per agent via trust levels 0-4 and human-in-the-loop (HITL) approval gates. Read-only research and drafting can be fully autonomous; sending emails, posting to social, executing trades, or any other high-impact write action queues for human approval by default.
Where is everything hosted?
Everything runs on managed cloud infrastructure, each deployment in its own private, isolated environment. If your data needs to stay in a particular country or region, we can deploy in another AWS or GCP region - or into a cloud environment you control - as part of a Private Enterprise Systems engagement.
